Rovers are the new kids on the block in the second-tier of South African football after clinching promotion from the ABC Motsepe League.
The North West-based side have decided to go with experience in appointing former Mbombela United and Sivutsa Stars mentor Ashwin Sutton as their new coach.
It has become a norm for promoted clubs to discard their coaches for experienced ones who are familiar with Championship football once they reach the promised land, which is sometimes understandable considering the demands of the league.
"Ja, I'm with Platinum City Rovers, I've just joined them," Sutton confirms to snl24.com/kickoff.
"We are still in the negotiations but I think it will be a two-year contract."
Club general manager Tlou Segolela could not be reached as his phone was switched off.
