Magesi end Maritzburg's unbeaten run

Orbit College 0-0 University of Pretoria

The newly-promoted Orbit College saw their perfect start in the Motsepe Foundation Championship brought to a halt with a goalless draw against the University of Pretoria on Friday.

Orbit had surprised many following their surge up the second tier with four wins from four, as AmaTuks are held to a successive goalless outing on the back of last Sunday's score-less meeting with NB La Masia.

Maritzburg United 1-2 Magesi FC

Magesi FC moved level on points with the Motsepe Foundation Championship leaders Orbit College with a 2-1 victory over Maritzburg United down at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.

Zipho Dlangalala's men were on the back-foot in the first half and trailed at the break after Tshepo Matsemela handed the visitors the lead.

United did bounce back following the break courtesy of Siphamandla Nzuzu, but Lehlogonolo Mokone turned up and got the team from Limpopo over the line.

Casric Stars 1-1 Baroka FC

Baroka's winless streak stretched to five matches after coming from behind to salvage a 1-1 draw against Casric Stars.

With no goals in the first half, the host took the initiative and were ahead when Decide Chauke haunted his former side with the cleverest of finishes.

As victory beckoned, Bakgaga Ba Ga Mphahlele grabbed a point with four minutes to go as Matome Mathiane popped up in unfamiliar territory to see the spoils shared.

Pretoria Callies 0-0 Milford Stallions

Milford Stallions climbed from the foot of the table and snapped a four-match losing run with a goalless draw against Pretoria Callies.

Stallions, who sit in the troubled bottom-two standing, have now gained their first point of the season whilst the Romans claim a fifth successive draw with no wins and losses as yet.

Venda Football Academy 0-1 NB La Masia

NB Las Masia got their second win of the season and surged to fifth-place on the table following a 1-0 victory over Venda Football Academy.

The winner from the Westbury-based side came in the first half through the boot of Gaga and left the host empty handed as well in the mid-table bracket.

JDR Stars 2-1 Marumo Gallants FC

JDR Stars got back to winning ways to remain in the top-half in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with a 2-1 victory over Marumo Gallants FC on Saturday.

The Hammerboys took just four minutes to go ahead after Azola Tshobeni got the breakthrough, but Bahlabane Ba Ntwa cancelled it out before halftime courtesy of Cyrille Nguessan.

JDR didn't lose hope and regained the lead with 20 minutes to go through a powerful header by Thokozani Lukhele and ultimately made sure of the three points on the day.

Black Leopards 1-0 Upington City

Black Leopards finally got off the mark at the fifth time of asking following a 1-0 win over the new boys Upington City.

Lidoda Duvha, who had made a poor start to the season with no wins following their opening four matches, got the winning effort during the first half.

The victory guides Leopards from the bottom-two positions leaving Upington to successive defeats following their set-back last weekend against the leaders Orbit College.

Hungry Lions 1-0 Platinum City Rovers

Hungry Lions needed a finish from Muzomuhle Khanyi in the first half to see off Platinum City Rovers 1-0 and return to winning ways.

Di Tau made a buoyant start and were rewarded when MuzomuhleKhanyi finished off an assist from Sinhle Makhubela earlier in the first half.

Rovers weren't able to draw an equaliser and suffered defeat which leaves them in the bottom-two as Lions climbed into the top-half bracket.
