Joel Masutha likens Royal AM chairman Andile Mpisane to Junior Khanye

'Moporofita' says the silky skills and dribbling of the player who doubles up as chairman of GladAfrica Championship club Royal AM is on the same level as former Kaizer Chiefs star Junior Khanye when it comes to talent.

The 20-year-old, who is also a Kwaito singer, had the country talking when he registered himself as a player and took the number-10 jersey.

The jersey number is usually associated with football 'gods' like the great Pele and the late Diego Maradona, while local stars such as Jomo Sono and Mlungisi 'Professor' Ngubane also made it famous.

Mpisane, who is the son of businesswoman and reality TV star Shauwn Mkhize, made his club debut in the 3-1 win over Uthongathi back in February and Masutha has shared some insight on the player.

"Dribbling – that's what he likes. He is very skilful, like the likes of Junior Khanye. Yes, he is a Junior Khanye type of a player – players who you know, when they receive the ball, they will dribble." Masutha tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"I never saw him in a game-like situation, only at training, but he is talented. He's got a very good tactical ability; his only problem was fitness.

While we were working on that, he injured his knee, and when I left, he was still on rehab. But he's a very good player with technical ability. He can dribble, but you know in the first division, players must be very fit because the league is very physical.

"But I think he's a coach's dream because he is someone who doesn't complain, you wouldn't even say that his mother is the club president or it's his team. He is just quiet; he comes and behaves like any other player."
