Sangare, who was at fault for Sierra Leone's late equaliser in a dramatic 2-2 draw, looks set to retain his place when the Ivorians take on Algeria in an all-important Afcon clash on Thursday.
Sangare was also taken to hospital due to an injury suffered in an awkward landing in his error that led to the late equaliser.
Speaking to KickOff, the Ivorian international confirmed that he had lost his father a day later after the Sierra Leone clash.
"It's true that I lost my father, who has passed on," Sangare said.
"I will remain in the Afcon camp with the team. I am good now."
Ivory Coast requires at least a draw against Algeria to advance to the knockout stages of the continental tournament.
