Huge price tag scares PSL club

Sekhukhune have identified Cosmos' Aboubacar Bemba Sangare as one of the players they want to sign for next season.

Negotiations between the Malian midfielder and Sekhukhune are already at an advanced stage, all that is left now is for the club to meet his demands.

"But both parties have been talking you know discussing their interests in each other. The player's camp has done everything on their side, it's only Sekhukhune now that need to make a decision. Sangare is a free agent, his contract with Cosmos will be done at the end of the month. The idea is for the player to go to the PSL, to progress you know, though he is open to NFD clubs if the premiership move doesn't materialise."

Contacted for a comment, Sekhukhune CEO Jonas Malatjie said the club cannot facilitate what the player's agent is asking for.

"I'm interested brother, everyone is interested but as long as there is no agreement between the two, it means nothing. If there is nothing coming forward it means nothing," he said.

"The player is ready (to join Sekhukhune) but I don't have that kind of money the agent is asking for. I don't have that kind of money. Let's not go there (on how much the agent is asking for) but the bottom line is I can't afford him. Really, he is a good player but I can't afford him. But yes, I really like him."

Sangare's agent could not be reached for a comment.
