Benin’s first choice goalkeeper Marcel Dandjinou has made declarations of his new plans after spending four-and-half years playing for JDR Stars in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
Dandjinou has risen to become the first-choice keeper for Benin while with JDR Stars and has played every minute for The Squirrels in the last 12 games.

During that time Benin have played their neighbours Nigeria thrice in World Cup and AFCON qualifiers coming up against Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Victor Boniface, and Kelechi Iheanacho.
The 27-year-old also played against Bafana Bafana.
With Benin heading to the AFCON finals where he will come up against Sadio Mane’s Senegal again, Dandjinou spoke to KickOff.com.
"I have since become a free agent following the end of my contract at JDR Stars who have since been sold to a new owner," says Dandjinou who kept 14 clean sheets for JDR last season.
"This allows me to move on to a new club since I also have my clearance with me.
"My plan is to get into a new club and remain active ahead of the AFCON finals in December.
"I have been able to establish myself as first choice for Benin while at JDR, so the plan is to make sure I keep my place in the national team.
"There are considerations that I’m making based on the options that I have but my immediate plan is to continue here in South Africa.

"There was interest in my services before from clubs in the Betway Premiership while I was contracted to JDR but the challenge there had to be a transfer fee to be paid.
"This time around I can move without any transfer fee talks.
"I’m grateful for the opportunity that I had playing for JDR Stars because I was able to become a regular in the national team while playing in the NFD," says Dandjinou.
