Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has given his verdict on showboating, which is known as Kasi Flava here in Mzansi, after his side's dominant CAF Champions League win.
The Soweto giants progressed to the second preliminary rounds of the CAF CL after defeating Comoros outfit Djabal 4-0 on aggregate.
When the Buccaneers were leading 3-0 in the second leg at the Orlando Stadium on Friday, Katlego Otladisa showcased some Kasi Flava skills that got the crowd off their feat.
Riveiro said he has no issue with the exhibition of skill, if it's used to gain metres. He also understands the cultural aspect behind Kasi Flava here in South Africa.
Here's how the readers reacted to the "'Technical tricks are beautiful to see but...' - Riveiro has his say on Kasi Flava" story:
"No place for that thing in our football. The kings of kasi flavour, where are they now? The likes of Qalinge and Rakhale to name a few," says Onside.
"I have seen it twice this season already. MaMkhize's player (Hopewell Cele) dancing on the ball, he lost it and other the team countered and almost scored. Again, a bench warmer from Chiefs danced all alone outside 18-yard area, instead of giving an assist or taking a shot to make a statement for the coach to consider him for next match...
"Mshishi eliminates players with his skill, and I have seen Maswanganyi do likewise and then lays it off for a goal," says Zam d king buccaneer.
"I agree with you Buccaneer. I saw Matlou with the meaningless dance. No purpose at all. Eliminate opponents with the skill and create goal scoring opportunities," replies Da Man.
"I saw a Sekhukhune player taking on a defender and turning him inside out, then deliver a cross from which a goal was scored. I applaud that," responds Zam d king buccaneer.
