After an underwhelming end to the season, Kaizer Chiefs have put several out-of-favour stars on their transfer list with Burundian striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana headlining the list.

The major clear-out at Naturena could also see Cole Alexander, Phathutshedzo Nange, Eric Mathoho, Austin Dube and maybe Kamohelo Mahlatsi being moved out by the Soweto giants.

Youngsters Wandile Duba and Sabelo Radebe could be heading out on loan ahead of the 2023/24 season. Here's how the readers reacted to the "Chiefs set for major squad clear-out" story:

"Mahlatsi must go out on loan. I think if he can be confident and focused, he has what it takes but he is not working hard enough.

"Players need to understand that this is a very big team, be mentally prepared to play for it like you have never played before. Some of these players are wasting their brilliant chances at a really good platform," says Khothakhosi.

"So Arthur Zwane will be the coach next season? ARE PEOPLE SERIOUS? Last year, there was an overhaul to build a team, there will be another overhaul to build a team. He will be building until when?" says peter95157.

"Please include Sithebe in that clear-out," says ayanda.mbalu2015.

"[They're] doing this now for the second time. They sign free agents and they want to bring in another rejects. I'm tired of this team," says Siphiwe73weyako.

Speaking at the club's end-of-season awards, SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt insists that the DStv Premiership needs a complete reboot to solve oversized playing squads and the selling of club statuses.

Hunt, who's resuscitated his coaching career with Matsatsantsa this season after a third-place finish in the league, pointed out numerous issues with SA football and wants the game to taken to a higher level again.

Here's how readers reacted to Hunt's views in the "Frustrated Hunt insists substandard DStv Prem needs 'reboot'" story:

"I am struggling to understand the club name change. When the franchise has been bought by another owner how it does it affect the quality of our soccer?

"If our soccer was that poor, why was Sundowns in the semi final of Champions League and a relegated Marumo after playing in the semi final of the Confed Cup," says Fela.

"This one complains about everything and anything football related," says Mnie.

"Hunt thinks that he is the author of the South African football," says Shikabala.

"The same with Cup competitions.. how some of us wish the Mainstay Cup still existed," says tebohotau2.

"Hunt is making a good point there, with all the administration and management suggestions but you can't tell teams how many players they can have in their squad because ambitions are not the same.

"Mara wena you're still bitter about Sundowns having money and being fired by Bobsteak. Also your ATP football is lowering our standards not Motsepe's checkbook," Slow_Poison.

"Huntie is right when it comes to the changing of teams and moving them to different locations. Most clubs in turn end up not having a rich history and the public will find it hard to be supporter of such club that tomorrow won't be there.

"Also this sponsorship, which is a big driving when running a successful club. No sponsors will back a team that will cease to exist after 3 years," says Lesoganatsoko.
