CAF has officially confirmed the final details for their new tournament, the African Football League, that will take place over the course of four weeks, starting 20 October in Tanzania.

African football's governing body, led by Patrice Motsepe, has announced all the latest details of the inaugural continental blockbuster tournament which is said to be worth $100 million (R1.8 billion) in prize money.

CAF confirmed eight clubs as founding members, with Mamelodi Sundowns joining Al Ahly (Egypt), Wydad Athletic Club (Morocco), TP Mazembe (DR Congo), Simba SC (Tanzania), Petro de Luanda (Angola) and Esperance de Tunis (Tunisia).

Here's how the readers reacted to the "CONFIRMED: All details of Africa's blockbuster new league revealed" story:

"Rubbish, what founding members... next you will be fighting with the PSL to excuse Sundowns to go participate in this tournament and complain that you're playing too many matches," says Fela.

"Where is Pirates and Chiefs?" asks mlekeleli.

"After winning the CAF Champions League via backdoor and failing several times after - Motsepe you are forcing your small-nyana Sundowns to be the most recognized team by all means.

"Unfortunately, iyohlezi incane i-Sundowns (Sundowns will always be a small club). Bought your way up to now being CAF president, Ukhumbule (Remember) that money can not buy you everything," says lwazihnzimande.

"It's about time we select our B Team to play MTN 8, Nedbank Cup, and our Development team to play Carling Cup. It's time to mingle with the big boys all the way," says UpDeDowns.

"Chiefs must excuse us just a moment, we wanna discuss Super Cup matters here," says Armour.

Kaizer Chiefs head coach reserved some praise for Pule Mmodi and Christian Saile Basomboli after their mid-week heroics against Stellenbosch FC.

Mmodi got onto the scoresheet with a long-range screamer, while Congolese forward Christian Saile came off the bench to secure all three points for the Soweto giants.

Ntseki says the two stars understand the demands at hand and praised Mmodi for his execution while hailing Saile as a vibrant player.

The former Bafana coach will hope for a third win in-a-row in all competitions when they come up against Masandawana in the MTN8 semi-finals at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Here's how the readers reacted to "Ntseki hails Kaizer Chiefs' goalscoring duo" story:

"The performance was not convincing. The positives are that we scored the goals without conceding. We lost ball in dangerous areas during transitions either by wayward passes or misunderstanding the move.

"The lethal Sundowns will punish us if we do that on Saturday," says Dr Mthimkhuli.

"Hayi, I'm still not convinced. When we play teams like Pirates and Sundowns, will we be able to absorb the pressure?" says Legend CRM083.

"Don't worry my chief. What's important is the game plan and coach Ntseki is doing that," says lwazihnzimande.

"It's still a work in progress, let's acknowledge that. We are under no illusion of where we are, and we're not world beaters.." says Danito 4 Life.

"Lepasa with a good goal as well as Mmodi, Thikazi and Mhango. All I'm saying is that goals bring excitement to everyone, not this nonsense of Kasi Flava, dancing around the ball," says Zam d king buccaneer.

"You're spot on king. Whether you support Pirates or Chiefs, goals bring excitement," replies The godfather.

"Thank you for the three points coach. If Chiefs wants to be successful like it used to be, they must bring back their philosophy and that will determine what kind of players they sign and also the type of coach they hire," says gcinanibayeni1.
