In this edition of Supporters Forum, KickOff speaks to Kaizer Chiefs die-hard supporter Paul Selala about his long-standing relationship with the Glamour Boys.
Name of supporter?
"Paul Selala is from Siyabuswa in the Mpumalanga province. Football fans know me as "Paul?"
"I'm in the transportation business, I transport commuters from Siyabuswa to Middelburg."
Club supported?
"I have never supported any other club besides Kaizer Chiefs, what attracted me to this football institution was the legendary Doctor Khumalo.
"The question mark on the back of my Chiefs shirt resembles the number 15 jersey Doctor Khumalo used to wear.
"At the moment nobody wears that number at Chiefs since it has been retired in his honor, hence I've put a question mark on the back of my shirt. I'm known as 'Paul Question Mark'.
How long supported?
"Since I was very young, the only Chiefs player I loved back then was Doctor Khumalo. The likes of John 'Shoes' Moshoeu, and Thabo Mooki were also there in that Chiefs team."
Are you happy with the Bosses?
"Yes they are doing a good job, I just don't understand why we are not doing well, but other than that I'm happy with their work.
"Well the club is not winning trophies but l don't blame them for that, they are signing good players. We've got a lot of quality in the team I just don't understand where the bad luck comes from."
Are you happy with the coach?
"Yes I am happy with our coach, I love what he has done so far, it's been a long time since the club won three games in a row, but with this coach, we managed to do that."
Are you happy with the players?
"100%. We have not given them enough time to combine. We must not forget that most of these players are still new.
"They were just missing a good coach.
"I trust they will deliver under Cavin Johnson."
Who do you want them to sign?
"Nobody. The current players deserve enough chance to combine."
Your message to the team?
"My message to the Chiefs players is simple, Chiefs is not a small club, you are followed by the whole country, so please take your work seriously."
