Chiefs winger ‘blacklisted’

Glody Makabi Lilepo is continuing to suffer the consequences of his untoward behaviour after being ignored for the latest national team camp.

Lilepo has been at Chiefs since the end of January after arriving from French Third Division club Valenciennes.

The 27-year-old has scored thrice and provided two assists in seven appearances at Chiefs, but that hasn't attracted the interest of the DR Congo national team coach Sebastien Desabre.

This is largely due to the drama that Lilepo caused during his last call-up.

This website has been informed that after being dropped from the match-day squad, Lilepo then threw his toys out of the cot by even refusing to travel in the team bus to the stadium.

It was this behaviour that then left him in the national team selectors' bad books.

Lilepo – who has 11 caps – has not played for the national team since he featured in the friendly against Uganda in June 2023.

DR Congo will play two FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Sudan and Mauritania during the next FIFA dates.
