Sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jr has explained why the Kaizer Chiefs decided to sign former Mamelodi Sundowns man Lebohang Maboe.
The Soweto giants announced on Tuesday afternoon via their social media platforms that the 30-year-old midfielder has joined the Naturena-based outfit.

Maboe joined as a free agent, having parted ways with Sundowns at the expiry of his contract in June, and completes a return to Amakhosi, where he was groomed in the development ranks.
The skilful midfielder collected a massive 12 titles in his seven years at Sundowns, including the African Football League title, where he made 183 appearances.
Chiefs, who return to continental football this season, believe Maboe’s experience will be vital this season.
We know Lebo is a quality player who has gained valuable experience in continental competitions over the past few years," Motaung Jr told the club’s website.
"His expertise will be crucial for us in both the domestic league and the CAF Confederation Cup. We’re pleased to welcome him back to Amakhosi.
"He was here and knows the culture and what our supporters expect from our players."
