Kaizer Chiefs have been called out to go for a solid choice with their next coach after a series of failed appointments.
The Naturena-based side have made appointments of coaches thin on success in recent times.

Steve Komphela was brought in back in 2015 without having won silverware in all his previous jobs and it didn't work out.
How Giovanni Solinas then found himself in the Chiefs job remains a mystery up to this day.
Then came the gamble with Arthur Zwane, who was handed his first head coaching job merely by virtue of how long he had been at the club.
There wasn't much of a difference with Molefi Ntseki as Amakhosi became the first club in the DStv Premiership that he led as head coach.
It was no surprise he didn't last long.
Then, with limited options, Chiefs went in the direction of turning to Cavin Johnson as he was already in their payroll as head of development.
As head coach of Platinum Stars, SuperSport United, AmaZulu and Black Leopards, Johnson never won any silverware, and that status quo will remain the same through to the end of his interim run as head coach at Mzansi's most-supported side.

"Chiefs need a coach to stamp his authority and be able to stand up to not being controlled by management," says one contact who has had several work-related trips to Naturena.
"There has already been institutional damage at Chiefs now, which will take time to repair.
"Can any player still go to Chiefs for reasons of wanting to win silverware?
"The answer is no.
"There is no belief at Chiefs anymore amongst the players and that energy has now been transmitted to the fans.
"The fans don't have much of an expectation anymore.
"What they can only ask for now is just the bare minimum, which they are not even sure the club will deliver.

"Right now, Chiefs will need a coach with no fear of management rather than coaches who will just be happy to be at Chiefs.
"Chiefs' next coach needs to be strong and not just a puppet on a string.
"It must be a guy who will stand his ground with what he believes needs to be done to fix all the wrongs at the club.
"If players see that coach, they must feel the need to work instead of just chasing social media likes.
"It is unfortunate that Chiefs will start at point zero again in June while a club like Sundowns continues to fly," says the contact, whose sentiments were echoed by another source in the industry who has worked with the club before.

"Truth of the matter is that Chiefs have not been so keen to spend money on the market.
"The last time Chiefs went big on the market was when they brought in Tsepo Masilela, Morgan Gould, Gaxa (Siboniso), Siyabonga Nkosi, 'Tower' (Mulomowandau Mathoho) and Kingston Nkhatha all at one go.
"This was adding on to a team that already had (Itumeleng) Khune in his prime, 'Yeye' (Reneilwe Letsholonyane) in his prime, 'Shabba' (Siphiwe Tshabalala) in his prime and Bernard Parker in his prime.
"Then add a battle-hardened Willard Katsande, Tefu Mashamaite and a performing Mandla Masango.

"This meant the team was already there and all that Stuart Baxter needed to do was just push them forward.
"Chiefs needs to buy established players if they want immediate trophies, otherwise they need a coach who is good with young players who the team will be patient with," says the source.
