Although sections of supporters are unhappy with the club's lack of action in the transfer window, KickOff looks at three reasons Chiefs have reason to be optimistic ahead of the second half of the season.
Mamelodi Sundowns were arguably the biggest winners of the January transfer window, securing moves for Thembinkosi Lorch, Tashreeq Matthews, and Zuko Mdunyelwa.
Cape Town City roped in Prins Tjiurza while former Leicester City midfielder Khanya Leshabela is reported to be under assessment.
Orlando Pirates strengthened their side with the arrival of rising star Thalente Mbatha and former Chippa Unite front-man Thabiso Lebitso.

The results
Chiefs endured a record-worst start to a PSL season collecting just four wins from 13 matches under then-head coach Molefi Ntseki, leading to two fines imposed on the club by the PSL DC over fan violence.
The club's hierarchy acted swiftly in addressing the worsening situation, placing experienced coach Cavin Johnson at the helm on an interim basis while in search of a permanent coach.
Since his appointment, Johnson has turned the ship around, collecting four wins from seven matches at the help. Chiefs also collected their first three-game winning run since the start of the season.
A happier camp
Insiders have told KickOff of a somewhat happier squad under the guide of Johnson, whose personal touch, has managed to restore confidence in the players in a squad rocked by reports of division and ill-discipline and provided assurances to the players deprived of playing time, particularly young players in the team that had grown unsettled.
Johnson was reluctant to take credit for the club's change informant but without going into detail acknowledged a more 'positive' response' from players
"It's not always nice to compare, from before and after because before you had one type of coach and now you have another type of coach.
"I always say it's what I brought to the table. I didn't change much but the players, were more positive in what they were doing and they responded better and we got the luck we won the luck.
Stability
While most Chiefs supporters were less than pleased, Johnson has stuck by his goals and reiterated that in his assessment, he would prefer to not bring in any new faces to Kaizer Chiefs Village.
While most Chiefs supporters were unhappy to hear those sentiments, it could be seen as a step towards stability at a club that has seen far too many changes in recent years.
Those words would have also come as sweet music to the club's hierarchy who routinely come under fire from fanatic supporters over the club's recruitment or lack of.
"At the moment, I don't think we should disrupt the nest. If I may call it the nest," Johnson told the media.
"We have a crop of players from last year that's done well, very well. And the crop of players, there are some players that haven't started but they keep their hands up and they look like they're happy to be in the Kaizer Chiefs players' group.
Chiefs return to the second part of the season with a clean bill of health and on the back of a positive run of good form.
Amakhosi's test on the field will come when they take on TS Galaxy at FNB Stadium on 13 February.
