Arrows to swoop on Magesi star

Golden Arrows look set to swoop on Mcedi Vandala to bolster their striking force for the upcoming season.

Vandala scored 10 goals for Magesi FC in the Motsepe Foundation Championship last season after making 29 appearances for the Limpopo-based side.

Magesi released 12 players last week as they prepare to welcome more new recruits ahead of the commencement of the 2024/25 campaign.

To their advantage, they have time on their side as the league season only begins in September, with the transfer window also shutting on 20 September.

The club has already roped in former Bafana Bafana midfielder Papi Zothwane to bolster their technical team, led by Clinton Larsen.

According to sources close to Abafana Bes'thende, the club and Mcedi Vandala are now in the advanced stage of concluding negotiations, and the marksman is set to move to Durban in the new season.

"Golden Arrows are talking to Vandala. The negotiations between the two parties are now at an advanced stage and the player could move to Durban anytime from now," said a KickOff source.

Arrows are still yet to announce a new coach following the departure of Steve Komphela.

In the interim, the duo of Mabhudi Khenyeza and Musa Bilankulu are currently holding the reigns taking the team through pre-season training.
