Tim Sukazi proud of TS Galaxy's CAF Confederation Cup achievements

The 2018/19 Nedbank Cup champions continued to re write the history books on the weekend when they progressed to the next round of the Confederation Cup qualifiers following a 2-0 win over St. Louis.

With the away win, the GladAfrica Championship side showed their strong mentality following the bad reception they received in Seychelles on arrival, when their luggage was transported in a truck and the players in what looked like a school bus.

"It feels good to advance to the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup as first-time participants," Sukazi tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"We started the competition as the lowest ranked team due to us being the only second division club. We are just happy to be representing the country with great pride. We will go as far as it takes us.

"We cannot predict these types of things with absolute certainty as CAF competitions are a different ball-game altogether. It is a standard much higher than that of the PSL in all aspects. It's only country representatives who get to play CAF football so for us as a National First Division club it is a learning curve but it is very fulfilling to realise that we can hold our own against some illustrious opponents.

"The CAF competitions are demanding physically and financially. It is quite an abnormality to see a young NFD club holding its ground against some highly sponsored clubs.

"If judging by what the likes of Sundowns are able to achieve locally while participating in CAF competitions every season, then our league performance should not be affected. We are equally meticulous in what we do and therefore I do not foresee any problem.

"Should we not do do as well as we anticipate in the league, then it will be because of us and not our CAF participation."
