Kaizer Chiefs' 18-man squad for Angola trip to face Petro Luanda

Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has selected an 18-man squad for their upcoming CAF Champions League fixture against Petro Luanda.

Chiefs departed Johannesburg for Luanda on a "special charter flight" on Sunday afternoon ahead of their Champions League group C fixture against Petro.

As has been the case in all their away-games on the continent this season, 18 players have been selected to travel for the crunch tie as the race for quarterfinal spots heats up.

With only two qualifying spots up for grabs, Amakhosi are level on points with second-placed Horoya but currently occupy third position by virtue of an inferior goal difference.

Wydad maintained their perfect record in the group after beating Horoya 1-0 on Saturday evening, which took them to nine points from three games.

Some of the notable absentees from the side includes striker Leonardo Castro, winger Dumisani Zuma and forward Khama Billiat, who are all been nursing injuries.

Goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune also remained in the country after recently returning from compassionate leave following the tragic passing of his 27-year-old sister.

Chiefs full squad: Bvuma, Akpeyi, Ngezana, Mphahlele, Cardoso, Sasman, Mathoho, Frosler, Blom, Zulu, Baccus, Katsande, Ngcobo, Manyama, Mashiane, Nurkovic, Parker, Kambole
