Clayton Daniels reveals his biggest target

Daniels has been one of the most consistent players in the PSL who has won almost every trophy, but there is one that he has missed out in his career.

The former Ajax Cape Town defender wants the club to finish in a good position so they can return to the CAF club competitions.

The 35-year-old still wants go one better than they did in 2017 when SuperSport lost to Congolese giants TP Mazembe in the CAF Confederation Cup final.

"For the club to reach that level it's always been a goal of mine, to compete against the best on the continent.

"Not only go there to add numbers, but to win the trophy. We were so close to winning the Confederation Cup and we lost to TP Mazembe, so I would like to to win it before I retire."

Matsatsantsa CEO Stan Matthews recently made a startling but rational admission that he would prefer his side to end fourth rather than second or third this season as they are "not ready" for Africa yet.

Daniels missed out on an Absa Premiership title after being released by Mamelodi Sundowns before they won the 2013/14 league title, which is also missing from his trophy cabinet.
