African Football news: Al Ahly launched R45-m bid for TP Mazembe's Jackson Muleka

Muleka, 20, is widely considered as one of the most promising strikers on the continent since bursting onto the scene with the Vodafone Ligue 1 giants.

Having lifted the league title, CAF Confederation Cup and Super Cup, the Democratic Republic of Congo international is already close to entering the record books in the Champions League.

With 14 goals in his first 30 games, Muleka is the joint 10th highest scorer in the history of Africa's elite club competition.

And according to ESPN journalist Anthony Pla, the record-eight time African champions Ahly offered Mazembe a mouth-watering $2.5m bid for his services with a $1-m (R18-m) potential sign-on fee.

However, it's been suggested the offer was immediately declined by both the club and player, with Muleka aiming for a dream move to Europe.

In a recent Facebook Live interview with Leopard Leader Foot, the prolific striker claimed he's prioritised a move abroad, with AS Monaco reportedly keen on his services.

Muleka has scored three goals in seven appearances for the DR Congo senior national team since making his debut last year.
