CONFIRMED | Ellis names final World Cup squad

Coach Desire Ellis has announced her final Banyana Banyana squad for the FIFA Women's World Cup.

The national side had their send-off dinner at Sefako Makgatho Presidential Guest House in Pretoria on Friday evening.

Ellis revealed her final 23-player squad after hosting a two-week camp to prepare for the World Cup.

The African champions are in Group G and will open their campaign against Sweden before locking horns with Argentina and finishing the group stage campaign against Italy.

South Africa will continue their preparations with a friendly against Costa Rica next month.

Final Squad:

Goalkeepers: Andile Dlamini, Kaylin Swart, Kebotseng Moletsane

Defenders: Karabo Dhlamini, Fikile Magama, Lebohang Ramalepe, Tiisetso Makhubela, Noko Matlou, Bongeka Gamede

Midfielders: Kholosa Biyana, Refiloe Jane, Sibulele Holweni, Linda Motlhalo, Nomvula Kgoale, Robyn Moodaly

Forwards: Gabriela Salgado, Jermaine Seoposenwe, Noxolo Cesane, Melinda Kgadiete, Wendy Shongwe, Hildah Magaia, Thembi Kgatlana.

Nthabiseng Majiya, Amogelang Motau, Regirl Ngobeni will be the players on stand by.
