Timm's promise to Bafana supporters

Bafana Bafana midfielder Miguel Timm has reassured supporters that the players in the squad are all determined to put on a good showing as two international friendlies loom.

The South African men's football team is putting in the final preparations for a friendly clash against Mozambique to be played at the Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga on Thursday.

"I know for a fact that none of us have come to this camp to mess around," said Timm.

"There's a lot of winners here and we've come to win these two games before we go on a small break."

Timm has had a fruitful season with the Buccaneers so far. He's featured 15 times for the Buccaneer's 17 outings and capped his contribution with a Man of the Match award winning performance in the final of the MTN8.

Reflecting on his first call-up to the senior national team, the 30-year-old said he feels honoured to don the green and gold.

"I'm obviously excited to be part of the group for he first time," Timm said.

"If I get the opportunity I'll try my best to grab it with both hands. There's a big pool of players to select from so I'm happy that I made the cut.

"I'm here to play whatever role is needed. Whether it's to support from the bench or be active on the pitch."

After Thursday's clash, Timm and Co will turn their attention to Angola, who they will face on Sunday at the same venue. The two tie are part of Bafana's preparation for the 2023 Afcon qualifiers to be played in March next year.
