"I'm grateful to the coach that he brought me back into the team," a delighted Hlongwane told SABC Sport.

"I was injured, but now I'm back. I'm happy that we were able to win the game. We're also grateful to the supporters who came out to rally behind us.

"It means a lot to us, that's why were fighting, we fought for them."

Hlongwane revealed that Broos encouraged the side to continue with how they approached the first half, with their efforts duly reward thanks to the MLS star's brace.

"The way we played first half was alright but we thought we weren't doing well," Hlongwane added.

"He said if we must continue the way we were playing, we would create chances and score the goals."

The attacker's MLS side Minnesota United acknowledged their star player's brace with a celebratory message on the club's official Twitter account.
