Gyan recently broke his silence regarding Senegalese referee Ndiaye Maguette's dubious decision to hand the Black Stars a penalty which ultimately decided their World Cup qualifier against Bafana Bafana.
That match is now under scrutiny after SAFA filed an official complaint to world football body FIFA over what they term 'unlawful manipulation' by a match official.
While SAF are also pushing for a replay at a neutral venue while the Ghana FA has strongly hit out at the complaint.
The Black Stars defender Andy Yiadom has already stirred controversy by admitting that the controversial penalty was a little bit soft after Daniel Amartey went crumbling to the ground after being touched by Rushine de Reuck.
"The cameras in the stadium weren't good enough but those on the field of play are in a better position to make a judgement on it," says Gyan.
"But, to me, the infringement looked very casual. The player went down very easily but the referee was very close to the incident so he can make his decision on the field but for and where I sit, I think Amartey went down very easily.
"I'm just expressing my opinion but those on the field of play can make a better judgement. I think it was a 50-50 decision. The game was played under high-intensity pressure and that could affect the decision of the referee," he is quoted as saying in a radio interview he did with Asempa FM.
Gyan won 109 caps for Ghana scoring 51 goals.
That penalty call is part of the complaint lodged by SAFA.
FIFA were due to sit over the protest yesterday with a verdict expected this week as CAF are also due to announce how and where the Play-Offs will be played with suggestions that these games be taken to Qatar.
Ten countries are through but only five will go through to the World Cup next year in Qatar.
