Orlando Pirates legend Teboho Moloi says Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos should learn from Augusto Palacios and identify solutions instead of harsh criticism.
Broos made headlines last week with his statements regarding the poor standard of local football in his opinion.
"I mean he is not saying something that we don't know," Moloi tells KickOff.
"He is saying something that we know, and he should have come up with a plan for what he has observed.
"A perfect example is Palacios, in my generation, we didn't become a golden generation just because we were talented.

"We became a golden generation because of Augusto Palacios. He came up with a plan.
"We were the whipping boys of Africa, Augusto then came up with a plan to put an end to the beatings Bafana Bafana were receiving.
"When he took over Bafana, we were left with a month and two weeks to face Nigeria.
"We trained three times a day, we did something we were not used to, and we went to the gym.
"We learned how to use the weights as footballers and not as bodybuilders.
"We held Nigeria 0-0, and I think one or two of our goals were disallowed.
"From that Palacios team, 13 players were part of the Class of '96, and seven were in the starting line-up of that '96 team that won the AFCON.
"He opened doors for all of us to go overseas.
"So Hugo Broos needs to similarly identify a plan to move the country forward out of this barren period.
"He is getting paid to come up with these solutions after all."
