'We played really good football' - Broos delighted as impressive Hlongwane stars in Bafana win

Head coach Hugo Broos was delighted with his side's performance as Bafana Bafana grabbed a come from behind victory over Mozambique thanks to a Bongokuhle Hlongwane brace.

MLS star Hlongwane proved the difference between the two sides as Bafana sealed a 2-1 win over Mozambique at the Mbombela Stadium on Thursday.

"It's not only the result, but the manner of the performance," Broos told SAFA media after his side's victory.

"I think we played a very good game, despite a little mistake at the beginning of the game that left us trailing 1-0.

"But we controlled the game from the first to the last minute but just have problems with our own mistakes. Ronwen [Williams] was caught out a few times, where I'm not used to seeing that from him.

"As if there was a goalkeeper who is very strong with the ball at his feet, it's Ronwen. Where this evening it was two occasions he made mistakes.

"Other than those rare mistakes I can't think of any other times that Mozambique posed a threat, so it means we dominated the game.

"We played really good football, sometimes one-touch football and created ten clear-cut chances throughout the game, so I think we can be happy with the performance.

"I'm not only happy but proud of that performance by the team. We saw positive signs in September and worked on it these past few days.

"We spoke to the players and it's a good sign for a coach to see that what you are asking of your players, they are doing it.

"This gives us more confidence and we will try to win our next game on Sunday. If we manage a positive result we will be more than ready for the important games in March.
