Ghana defender Andy Yiadom has stirred controversy by admitting that the controversial penalty awarded to The Black Stars in their World Cup decider against Bafana Bafana last week was rather soft.
The dubious handling of the match by Senegalese referee Ndiaye Maguette along with the awarding of that penalty has led to SAFA lodging a complaint with FIFA while Ghana has responded by insisting that the South Africans are not following procedure.

"When I was on the pitch it looked like it was a penalty, but I have watched it back it looks like it could be a little bit soft," says Yiadom who plays for Championship club Reading in England.
He was talking to World Football on the BBC World Service.
"But it is football and I have had them given against me plenty of times and it is one of those things and it was about actually scoring the penalty which we did.
"I have been the person who has just touched him, and the other person has just fallen over. At the moment I know we won the game and that's that," he says adding that as players the matter has not been topical in their group chats.
"We have a WhatsApp group, but nothing has really been said in it and I haven't really been following it, has been pretty hectic and I have been travelling a lot and been in training and have to crack on with the game," says Yiadom.
FIFA is due to decide on whether SAFA will be granted their wish to replay the match decided by that penalty incident which had Daniel Amartey going down at the slightest of touches from Rushine de Reuck.
