Broos had hit out at the standard of the DStv Premiership as a reason for Bafana Bafana's recent struggles on the international stage.
Booth says Hugo Broos has no right to criticise the institution that is paying his salary but instead should offer solutions.
"I think there are things that you need to keep to yourself," Booth tells KickOff.
"If I was in his shoes being foreign earning a salary in a distant land I wouldn't be criticising the league or the institution paying your salary.
"I would keep that to myself.
"Him coming from a country that has been so successful in world football with a population of only 16 million while holding the number one spot in the world, he should be coming with ideas and plans and suggestions and not criticism.
"But having said that, Carlos [Queiroz] attempted that, Carlos Alberto Perreira attempted that, so if you don't have someone to listen to, to change then there is no point in suggesting these things.
"I felt he should have kept those sentiments to himself especially when the players are playing under you.
"They are under your charge and you should not be making such statements in public."
