Pitso Mosimane nominated for prestigious Manager of the Year award alongside Zidane, Guardiola

Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane has been nominated for the prestigious International Federation of Football History Statistics (IFFHS) Manager of the Year award for 2021 alongside names such as Pep Guardiola and Zinedine Zidane.

The IFFHS is an organisation that chronicles the history and records of association football which was founded in 1984.

Previous winners of the Manager of the Year award include Zinedine Zidane (2017), Didier Deschamps (2018), Jurgen Klopp (2019) and Hansi Flick (2020).

Mosimane, the most decorated coach in the DStv Premiership, went on to lift back-to-back CAF Champions League titles with Al Ahly.

While also clinching a historic treble during the 2019/2020 season.

"It is a privilege and an honour to be nominated amongst the masterminds of football in this generation," Mosimane said in reaction to his nomination.

"Thank you to my team for the constant support."
