Pirates are gearing up for a Nedbank Cup quarterfinal fixture against SuperSport United, due to be played at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday (15:00).

Mabasa will be the go-to man in matters relating to goals as he has been the preferred started up front for the men in Black and Red. After all, four of the six goals the side has netted in the tournament so far have come from the boot of the 28-year-old.

Riveiro says there are periods in a game where the forwards are having a better relationship with the ball.
"Rele (Relebohile Mofokeng), (Mohau) Nkota... It's a pity that in the last two games, (Bandile) Shandu had two or three situations where he was really close to scoring (but didn't).
"But it's not a problem. Like I said, as long as we are scoring more than the opponent...

"We are in a period of the season where the goals are very expensive, where everyone is focused on achieving their objectives, and the second part of the season is always more difficult. The results are usually more tight.
"Even at this point last season, the scores were very narrow, 1-0 or 1-1. It's so difficult in this moment of the season, but I think we are fine," assured the composed gaffer.
