Promotion Race: Kruger United silence AmaTuks

University of Pretoria 2-3 Kruger United

University of Pretoria's barren run continued and succumbed to a 3-2 defeat to promotion-chasing Kruger United at the Tuks Stadium.

AmaTuks were up against it from the word go, as Khotso Malope and Thulani Ndlela pounced to give United a solid footing at the course of the interval.

The host fancied a comeback with Luke Daniels and Kgomotso Mosadi, but the men from Mpumalanga strayed clear with Bright Ndlovu netting the decisive effort.

Hungry Lions 1-2 Durban City

Durban City extended their lead at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship to six-points with a 2-1 win over Hungry Lions on Saturday.

The Team of Choice return to winning ways after last weekend's loss to Baroka FC with goals coming from Saziso Magawana and Samkelo Maseko.

Di Tau were able to get themselves on the board none more though through the league's sharp-shooter Muzomuhle Khanyi – grabbing his 17th of the season.

Black Leopards 2-2 JDR Stars

JDR Stars failed to leapfrog Orbit College to second-place in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after playing to a 2-2 draw with Black Leopards on Sunday.

Lidoda Duvha enjoyed the perfect start and actually took a two-goal lead at halftime courtesy of Tsepo Matsimbi and Kamogelo Ngwane.

Indeed, the Hammerboys replied and duly salvaged a share of the spoils through Ishmael Wadi and Banele Hlophe.

Leruma United 0-0 Baroka FC

Baroka FC were unable to build on last weekend's win over leaders Durban City following a goalless draw with bottom side Leruma United.

The result set the men from Lebowakgomo further apart from the top-three and to seventh-place more specifically, as Leruma earned a welcome point in their relegation struggles.

Casric Stars 0-1 Upington City

Casric Stars winless run in the Motsepe Foundation Championship continued after going down 1-0 to Upington City on Friday.

In addition, Stars hopes for a top-three slot now hang in the balance and were last on the winning side at the end of January against JDR Stars.

For Bafana Ba Gucci, it's a crucial win which keep them in mid-table as former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Jabulani Shongwe scored the winner.

Cape Town Spurs 2-1 Highbury FC

Cape Town Spurs staged a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Highbury FC at the Athlone Stadium and moved out of the relegation zone.

The visitors were buoyant before the clash having hammered Milford Stallions and were on course for another win when Dubula had them ahead at the break.

Spurs rallied back in the closing stages of the match when Mervin Boji and Therlo Moosa struck in the matter of minutes for the full haul of points.

Orbit College 0-0 Venda Football Academy

Orbit College lost a bit of ground with the table-topping Durban City following a goalless draw with relegation-threatened Venda Football Academy.

The point unfortunately saw the respective outfits in opposing ends of the table, with the host chasing the summit and Venda to move out of the bottom-two.
