Onyango’s remarkable recovery from career-threatening injury will without a doubt send his country’s national team, the Cranes, into delight ahead of the make-or-break African Nations’ Cup qualifier against Niger on September 8.
The Supersport custodian was impressive in a friendly match against Pretoria University on Sunday, where he was restricted to 45 minutes before engaging Garankuwa United for 90 minutes in another build-up yesterday.
Onyango had been ruled out of football for six weeks following surgery on his right knee medial ligaments.
“I have had the best medical help at the club. I have had no problems moving and kicking the ball in the two games I have been involved,” said the 23-year-old.
