Sundowns close the gap on Chiefs

Mamelodi Sundowns 2-0 TS Galaxy

Mamelodi Sundowns moved within a point off table-toppers Kaizer Chiefs with a 2-0 victory over TS Galaxy.

The in-form Onele Rulwana got the opener in the middle of the first half from the penalty spot and also saw the Brazilians to the lead at the interval.

Sundowns sealed the maximum points at the death when Bennet Mokoena struck to make it two goals in two games and leave the Rockets empty handed.

Golden Arrows 0-1 Richards Bay FC

Golden Arrows three-match winning run were ended after going down 1-0 to Richards Bay FC in the KwaZulu-Natal derby.

The win helped Usuthu bounce back from a two-match winless run and edged towards the top eight as goals from Kwanele Mbayi, Bayanda Thabede and Thato Matli did the business.

For Bahlabane Ba Ntwa, it's yet another loss from 16 matches played and have only three points registered which come from three draws.

Sekhukhune United 2-1 Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates winning run in the DStv Diski Challenge ended in a shock 2-1 defeat to Sekhukhune United in Vanderbiljpark on Sunday.

The miss came at a great cost as Babina Noko seized initiative a minute before halftime courtesy of Kearabilwe Mphahlele.

Mphahlele grabbed a brace soon inside the second half, but the Buccaneers pulled a response though there were no comeback as Babina Noko snatched the points.

SuperSport United 2-0 Magesi FC

SuperSport United jumped to the top of the table in the Diski Challenge following a 2-0 win over Magesi FC in Soshanguve.

Matsatsantsa were kept at bay by the stubborn visitors in the first half, but were renewed after the break and got in front through Jabu Matsio.

The final nail in the coffin came in added time when Owen Ramunasi happened to be in the perfect spot and time to find the back of the net.

Stellenbosch FC 3-0 Cape Town City

Title holders Stellenbosch FC maintained their title charge with a dominant 3-0 victory over rivals Cape Town City in the provincial derby.

In a purposed start, the Maroons intentions were clear as early as the tenth minute when Cheswyn Philander got them in front.

However, the advantage was overshadowed greatly for the host who saw the industrious Faiz Abrahams given his marching orders by the officiating team.
