David Zulu shocked by Baroka's decision to release him

The former Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United man was signed and released in the same transfer window by Bakgaga.

The same thing happened to Ivorian forward Armand Gnanduille shortly after the arrival of new coach Wedson Nyirenda in May.

"I had signed for two seasons, but I have left everything to my manager. He is the one who is going to speak to them regarding the settlements and so on. I had to take it, there is nothing I could have done.

It shocked me because I knew about it two days before, and when we eventually talked I could see that there is no other way. It was one of the MDC teams coaches who informed me that there was a story like this. As I'm saying they are the only ones who know the reason so I don't want to be involved too much you see. I'm also not sure what is happening at the moment, but for sure I have left. At the moment I'm in Jozi."

Zulu says he is currently training with NFD newcomers Maccabi FC.

"[Rather] than to sit idling after having already started a pre-season, I don't wanna lose that fitness so they allowed me to train with them. My agent is still looking around for a team, I just have to train. For now it's too soon to say anything as I'm still waiting to see where the options will come from. Other things are beyond your control as a person you see. I just have to wait to see where the next opportunity is going to come from. I just wanted to play, as for other things I was not focusing on them, but at the end they did affect me. So I had to make a decision that was going to be right for me. The message I would like to tell other guys who are still dreaming of being professional players is they must not allow desperation to cloud their judgement. If you feel something is no longer going the way you agreed on, don't be scared to reconsider your decision."

Though he refused to go into details, Baroka CEO Morgan Mammila on Wednesday confirmed Zulu’s departure to this website.
