Pitso Mosimane has signaled his intentions to create history with Al-Ahli after being appointed as the Saudi giants' new head coach over the weekend.
Three months after parting ways with Egyptian Premier League side Al Ahly, South African coach Pitso Mosimane has completed a highly-anticipated return to management after being appointed as new the head coach of Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ahli.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns boss takes charge of the three time Saudi Pro League champions where he will be tasked with guiding the team back to the top-flight, with the club having suffered relegation for the first time in its history last season.
"I am very excited for this opportunity and I can't wait to meet my new team," Mosimane shared in a tweet on Sunday. "Shukran (thanks) to the Chairman, CEO, Board, players, supporters for trusting us with this mission. We will do our best, recreate history make the green nation happy. Alhamdulillah (praise be to God)."

Mosimane previously spent 21 months in nearby Egypt where he guided Al Ahly to two consecutive CAF Champions League trophies and two consecutive CAF Super Cup crowns, while also winning the Egypt Cup.
The 58-year-old took a brief hiatus from the dugout thereafter during which he became the first South African coach to obtain the coveted CAF Pro License, further cementing his status as the country's foremost tactician.
Meanwhile, Al-Ahli occupy seventh position in the domestic league standings and will be in action again on 5 October when they face cross-town opponents Jeddah Club.
