UEFA Champions League match report Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur 01 June 2019

Liverpool sealed their sixth UEFA Champions League crown with a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Spurs handed a start to Harry Kane in place of semi-final hat-trick hero Lucas Moura, with Divock Origi benched for Roberto Firmino on the other side

The Reds were off to a flyer when Salah converted from the penalty spot after two minutes following a handball in the penalty area by Moussa Sissoko.

Spurs struggled to find their rhythm, as Trent Alexander-Arnold threatened a second 17 minutes in with a 25-metre drive that sailed inches wide of Hugo Lloris' upright.

From then on, the contest filtered into a somewhat chess affair with no clear chances on either end of the coin.

Liverpool pushed for a second through a long-range drive from Andy Robertson after 38 minutes, but Lloris tipped for a corner as the Reds went in to the break with a slender lead.

Jurgen Klopp turned to his bench on 58 minutes and brought on Origi, the chief destroyer of FC Barcelona in the last round, with Firmino making way.

Trailing and on the back foot, Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino brought in his first change after 66 minutes as Moura filled in for Harry Winks.

Though, the Reds kept coming as James Milner flashed a low effot wide from inside the area after Salah's lay-off in the box.

Spurs began to ask more serious questions in the final 10 minutes, with consecutive shots from Hueng Min-Son and Moura which Alisson Becker thwarted successfully.

However, Liverpool sealed the contest on 87 minutes after Origi drilled the ball past a stranded Lloris to hand the Reds their sixth Champions League title.
