Diaz, 25, netted an incredible third goal in Real's routine 3-0 win over AS Roma on Wednesday evening to mark his return to the Spanish giants.
And after the game, the man who replaced Cristiano Ronaldo as the club's new number seven said he's now looking forward to representing La Roja.
The Spanish-born striker remains eligible to represent the country as his solitary appearance for The Dominican Republic came during an international friendly against Haiti back in 2013.
"I would love a call from Luis Enrique, I hope I can be in the national team," he explained in his post-match interview.
"I'm very happy for the goal and would like to thank my teammates."

On the stunning strike; "Marcelo's pass made sure that I was able to debut in this wonderful way."
"He told me to press, not to lose the ball and to help my teammates. He told me just to keep doing what I have been in training.
"At Real Madrid we all have a big responsibility, we have to face the Champions League with great enthusiasm."
