Sevilla captain Jesus Navas on returning to Spain squad since leaving Pep Guardiola's Manchester City

Sevilla captain and 2010 FIFA World Cup winner Jesus Navas has explained how he broke back into the Spain squad since leaving Manchester City under the management of Pep Guardiola.   Navas, 33, left City after Guardiola's first season at the club, in which marked his first trophyless season in his managerial career - while the tricky winger made just 12 league starts in an unfamiliar right-back role.   He then opted to return to Sevilla, signing a four-year contract and his form in LaLiga has earned him a recall to Luis Enrique's side after nearly six-years in the wilderness - ironically for his form as a right-wing back at Los Rojiblancos.   With Navas suffering clinical homesickness problems in the past, he played down the notion of it being the contributing factor to his excellent displays since returning to his boyhood club - when posed the question of how his international career has been rekindled.   "The will, the will to continue working," Navas told KickOff during the LaLigaWorld tour. "It wasn't really from the homesickness but really just to go back home and continue working on my ability.   "Being part of the national team is something that every player will want in their career, that's what I wish to play for and that's what I want to continue doing."   Navas has amassed 472 appearances over two separate spells for the record five-time UEFA Europa League champions scoring 35 goals and registering 93 assists.
