Real Madrid's preparations for next month's UEFA Champions League clash against Manchester City have been rocked by the news that one of their players has tested positive for COVID-19.
Reports from Spain have revealed that Los Blancos striker Mariano Diaz has tested positive for the coronavirus, and that the 26-year-old is now self-isolating.
Marca claimed that the Real Madrid squad had all enjoyed a few days off following the conclusion of the 2019/20 LaLiga campaign, and that Diaz tested positive following his return to training on Tuesday.

It is claimed further that there was little risk of contagion and that the remainder of the squad has accordingly not been sent for further testing.
Diaz has now been ruled out of Real's Champions League tie against City next week Friday, although it is uncertain that he would have featured after scoring only once in seven appearances across all competitions this season.
