The Premier League's youngest-ever managers following Ryan Mason debut

Just days after replacing Jose Mourinho, Tottenham Hotspur interim manager Ryan Mason has become the Premier League's youngest-ever manager.

Mason took charge of his first match as Spurs boss on Wednesday when he oversaw a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Southampton.

Upon making his debut in the dugout, at the age of 29 years and 312 days, the former England international became the youngest-ever person to coach in the competition, and the first to do so before his 30th birthday per Opta's statistics.

Mason, who played for Spurs and Hull City before having to retire due to a serious injury, broke the record previously held by former Crystal Palace caretaker boss Attilio Lombardo, who was 32 years and 67 days old during his brief stint with the Eagles.

The former Italy international now occupies the second spot ahead of Chris Coleman and countryman Gianluca Vialli, while ex-Chelsea boss Andre-Villas Boas rounds out the top five, after taking charge of the Blues when he was just 33 years and 301 days old.
