That record is also shared with Leicester City who defeated none other Southampton by nine goals to nil in 2019, meaning Ralph Hassenhutl's side carry the unwanted record of being on the receiving end of two of the three largest defeats in the competition's history.
Outside of the top three largest results, Tottenham Hotspur feature following their 9-1 victory over Wigan Athletic in 2009, while Newcastle United, Manchester City and Chelsea (twice) are the other teams who can boast having won a Premier League match by a margin of eight goals.
Remarkably, City also feature among the sides to have suffered one of the biggest defeats alongside Nottingham Forest, with the two clubs having found themselves on the end of sobering 8-1 losses to Middlesbrough and Manchester United in 2008 and 1999, respectively.
