Alexander-Arnold is expected to join Los Blancos on a free transfer, but one issue that is yet to be decided is his participation at the FIFA Club World Cup in June.
According to AS, the Reds are happy to let the right-back leave a month before his contract ends but they would need compensation.
Players would usually move to new clubs from July, but FIFA have allowed teams competing in the Club World Cup to register new players before the tournament.

The report adds that Liverpool want compensation of around £900,000 (R16 million) to cover the final month of Alexander-Arnold's salary for the final month of his contract.
Los Blancos were drawn in Group H alongside Al-Hilal, Pachuca and Red Bull Salzburg for next month's competition.
