Cape Town City boss John Comitis says Tokelo Rantie needs space

Rantie is yet to make his debut for the Citizens following his signing in August.

The former Orlando Pirates hitman was picked up as a free agent, having walked out on Turkish outfit Genclerbirligi towards the end of 2017.

"Err... I have already made my statement on Tokelo Rantie, and we've given him the space to sort out his private affairs," Comitis tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"He's got certain issues with his marriage, and he is not able to overcome his problems because they are affecting his performance. And we are just going to give him some space."

Last week City announced the signing of fellow marksman Kermit Erasmus.

Asked if Erasmus was recruited as a replacement for Rantie, Comitis says: "Oh well, that's people on the street's opinion, that's not my opinion."
