Vitesse's Europa League dreams dashed by Utrecht

Vitesse 0-2 Utrecht 

Utrecht secured Europa League football for next after defeating Vitesse 2-0 in the second of the play-off final

Vitesse had a slight advantage heading in to the clash after securing a 1-1 draw away to Utrecht last week.

However, Utrecht took control in the second leg as goals from Cyril Dessers and Simon Gustafson secured a 2-0 win on the night and a 3-1 win on aggregate.

Bafana Bafana international Thulani Serero played the entire clash for the home side, who had Mohammed Dauda sent off in the final 12 minutes.

Eredivisie Play-off

De Graafscap 0-2 Sparta Rotterdam

Lars Veldwijk's Sparta Rotterdam secured promotion to the Dutch top flight after defeating De Graafschap 2-0 in the second leg.

Trailing 2-1 from the first leg, Halil Dervisoglu levelled up the tie for Sparta in the 74th minute.

It was left to Adil Auassar to grab the headlines as the Dutch midfielder fired home the second goal in the 83rd minute to send Sparta to the Eredivisie.

Veldwijk, who played 90 minutes on the night grabbed his seventh assist of the season during the encounter and finished the campaign with 24 goals in 40 appearances.
