Claasen played another 68 minutes for the Tigers last night in the 0-0 draw against Braga in Albufeira, and Bruce is expected to make a decision on the Bafana Bafana midfielder when they arrive back in England from their training camp in Portugal.
“He’s neat and tidy and a really good footballer, but I’m not so sure we could get a work permit,” Bruce told thisishullandeastriding.co.uk after the game. “That’s the thing that’s nagging away with us. We’ll see what develops in the next week or so.
“He looks a little bit lightweight but he’s a feisty little thing. I’ve been quietly impressed.”
The 23-year-old Claasen is capped only seven times for Bafana and this is not enough for him to earn a work permit in England.
