The 43-year old former Santos, Ajax Cape Town and SuperSport United star changed clubs no less than 10 times during his career, including stints in America and Europe.
In 2006 when Selolwane returned from abroad, both Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates tried unsuccessfully to capture his signature.
"I trained for three days at Sundowns but then left to go back to Botswana, then returned to play for Santos.
"When I was at Chicago Fire, Goolam Allie called and invited me to Cape Town but I wasn't ready to return to SA.
"While at Salt Lake, Patrice Motsepe's father contacted me asking to come and play for his son's team who I didn't know was that rich. He is the one who took me to Sundowns.
"He even came to watch me practice. His driver is the one who picked me up from the airport.
"I chose to leave, I was not chased away. Brian Baloyi, Josta Dladla, Surprise Moriri, Peter Ndlovu, Jabulani Mendu, Paulos Masehe were all there.
"Sundowns had too many foreign players and I wanted to play regularly.
"Irvin Khoza called while I was at Salt Lake, but that was the last time we spoke and I came to Botswana and we never spoke again.
"So Goolam made contact again and I ended up going to Cape Town.
"From Santos, I applied for my residency as my dad is South African, so I'm South African but born and raised in Botswana.
"I'm grateful to Goolam. That's what is important. My journey happened the way it was meant to happen."
The retired soccer star is currently back home in Botswana unearthing talent through his U-Turn Dipsy Trust.
"I'm also into marketing, supplies and construction with my companies," he added.
