Lidoda Duvha are looking to improve their squad and avoid what happened last season when they needed the playoffs to survive relegation.
New coach Patrick Aussems is running the rule over Khumalo, recently released Golden Arrows striker Sibusiso Sibeko and ex-Baroka FC forward Richard Matloga.
"All I can confirm is that we are assessing. And yes, we are also signing, but we are not done yet because the coach is still busy," Leopards spokesman Berry Ramunenyiwa tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"So we cannot confirm anything before the coach is done with his job. And the fact that he is from overseas, he wants material, not names. So he is working on getting a team, not names. Definitely before the first game we will be having a team."
The 25-year-old Sibeko made 12 appearances in all competitions for Abafana Bes'thende last season, while 31-year-old Khumalo played 17 times for GladAfrica Championship outfit TS Sporting.
Matloga, 29, only managed six appearances for relegated Royal Eagles.
