As confirmed earlier this month, Kwinika was officially announced as a new Kaizer Chiefs player after the club completed a double deal to secure his and Ashley Du Preez's signatures from Stellenbosch FC on Monday, with the pair set to officially join on 1 July.
The 28-year-old defender started his career in the Amakhosi academy but left before making his senior debut for the club, going on to enjoy spells with Chippa United, Thanda Royal Zulu and Bidvest Wits.
He then joined Stellenbosch in 2020 and quickly became a key figure under head coach Steve Barker, helping the club avoid relegation last season before winning the club's Footballer of the Season and Players' Player of the Season earlier this month after a stellar campaign.
"I'm grateful to Stellenbosch, especially Coach Steve Barker, Rob Benadie but importantly my teammates," Kwinka said in a statement shared by Stellies' media team.
"They helped me become a better player, so I am quite grateful for the team, and everyone involved in the backroom staff. I also want to thank the supporters for the love they showed me.
"Even though I am looking forward to the new challenge that lies ahead of me I will always represent the Winelands wherever I go because they helped me to grow and become a better player, a better individual, and a better human being."
Barker also shared a parting message to the versatile defender who made 57 appearances across all competitions during his two-year stay with the Cape Winelands-based side.
"It will be tough to replace a player like Zitha," Barker added. "I rate him as one of the best centre backs in this league and I'm glad we could provide the opportunity for him to showcase his abilities and develop into the player that he is today.
"Even though it's tough to see him go, we are incredibly happy for Zitha and wish him all the best in his next chapter."
