The Colombian international is currently on loan in Turin from his London club, having been bought from Fiorentina last year. He however failed to settle into Jose Mourinho’s side at Stamford Bridge, yet has shone in his loan spell so far with the Bianconeri, scoring two goals and providing four assists in his 16 Serie A matches thus far this season.
Following an impressive display in his side’s 3-0 Coppa Italia semi-final humbling of rivals Inter Milan on Wednesday night, Juve’s general director Giuseppe Marotta said he’s keen to keep the 27-year-old beyond the end of his loan.
"He is on loan but for the squad and his tactical flexibility we really need him," Marotta told Rai Sport. "He plays in a different way compared to all our other midfielders.
"Cuadrado could help us a lot and we are happy about his performances. We will try to hold on to him for the next campaign."
The player himself hinted at a possible stay, saying Juve is the best club he’s ever played for.
"We have not won anything yet, we need to continue the way we are going," he told RAI. "Juventus are the best club I have ever played for. Even when things were not going well, I was convinced we would lift ourselves up."
