Usuthu have confirmed the signing of Zuma along with Gabadinho Mhango (Orlando Pirates), Augustine Kwem (TS Galaxy), Thendo Mukumela (Cape Town Spurs) plus the pair of Veluyeke Zulu and Riaan Hanamub who were with Chippa United.
Zuma arrives from Chiefs where his stay ended in controversy after being suspended twice for discipline-related issues.
AmaZulu have highlighted that they will be signing another two years with another two to be promoted from their reserve team with the plan of reducing the average age of the squad.
"This is all to him to decide what he wants to do with his career because of the age factor," says Thulisani Latha, who was an assistant coach when he played at Kings United in the ABC Motsepe.
"It could work well that he is now closer to him meaning homesickness will not be an issue anymore.
"Yet at the same time, this could get worse because the Durban lifestyle has a reputation of destroying players, especially the nightlife. So many players fell victim to the Durban lifestyle and never reached their true potential in the end.
"They were all under AmaZulu so Durban can also be a distraction especially if you come with your mind not ready.
"This is all up to him because this could be his last chance in an environment closer to home.
"It is either he will end up like those who fell victim and now talk about their past or grows to become relevant and a legend.
"He now has a bad reputation behind his name and must fix that by doing the job on the field and staying away from any negative off-field issues.
"Any slight issue will be blown out of proportion from now onwards," says Latha.
