DStv Premiership match report Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila v Kaizer Chiefs 04 May 2021

Ten-man Kaizer Chiefs saw their top eight hopes dented by Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila, who claimed a 2-1 win on Tuesday evening.

Chiefs made three enforced changes, as goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma, Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Reeve Frosler replaced Daniel Akpeyi, Eric Mathoho and the suspended Daniel Cardoso.

After a quiet start to the half, Thabo Mnyamane had the first chance for TTM in the 22nd minute after cutting inside from the right wing before seeing his strike palmed away Bvuma.

Amakhosi had their own chance to break the deadlock two minutes later after Samir Nurkovic broke away on the right side of the box and played a dangerous low cross that was smothered by goalkeeper Washington Arubi.

Gavin Hunt's charges were reduced to ten men seven minutes before the break after Njabulo Blom picked up his second booking after pulling down Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo just outside the box.

Chiefs were fortunate not to be a goal down from the resultant free-kick, as Mnyamane  rattled the underside of the crossbar with a curling free-kick.

However, Rakhale eventually gave Vhadau Vha Damani the lead three minutes before the break with a stunning volley inside the box after chest-trapping a cross.

TTM had a big chance to double their lead nine minutes inside the second stanza after Celimpilo Ngema went clear on goal but his low drive was saved by Bvuma, before  Ngema blasted one wide with only Ngema to beat,.

Chiefs had a lifeline in the 64th minute after Ayanda Nkili brought down Nurkovic inside the box, with the referee pointing to the spot after long consultation with his assistants. Lebogang Manyama's spot kick was initially saved by Arubi but he pounced on the rebound, rounding the Zimbabwean at the near post and squeezed his shot over the line.

Hunt made a double change in the 73rd minute, as Dumisani Zuma came on Manyama for fresh legs and Willard Katsande replaced Kearyn Baccus, in a defensive move.

Parker was unlucky not to make it 2-1 for Chiefs two minutes later with a first-time cracking strike inside the box that rattled the frame of goal after a cut-back by Nurkovic.

TTM were awarded a penalty deep in stoppage time for a handball by Siyabonga Ngezana inside the box and Mnyamane snatched the winner for Tshakhuma from the spot as they went up to 14th on the log while Chiefs remain in ninth place.
